What the night is made of.

A bad night can feel like one solid verdict. The useful work is smaller: notice the hour, the room, the thought that arrived, and the next ordinary choice.

About Emmett

Thirty-one years of bad nights, then six years of reading.

Rotating shifts changed Emmett's nights. Retirement did not simply change them back. He began reading the established research fields behind sleep timing, light, temperature, the bed, caffeine, alcohol, and nighttime rumination. This book is the plain account he wished he had at the start.

Emmett is not a doctor. This is not medical advice. It is one man's account and the research he read, with the sources printed in the book.

The refund promise

You have 30 days to decide.

If it is not for you, email us. We refund it. You keep the files.

Questions worth answering before you buy.

The honest answer is sometimes a reason not to buy the book.

Will this make me sleep eight hours?

Honestly, no. Eight hours is not promised, and this book does not guarantee a sleep result. Its promise is a clearer explanation and an organized sequence.

Is this medical advice?

No. It is one man's account and the research he read. It explains its boundaries and does not diagnose or treat anything.

What is outside the book's scope?

This book is about habits, hours and rooms. Some sleep problems are not habit problems. Loud snoring with pauses in the breathing, legs that will not stay still, pain that wakes you, and a mood that has changed along with the sleeping are different things with different causes, and nothing in here addresses any of them. If that is the night you are having, this is the wrong book, and you should not spend six weeks on it.

What files do I receive?

You receive a digital PDF and EPUB. The PDF can be read on a screen or printed. The EPUB is for compatible ereaders and reading apps.

Will anything arrive in the mail?

No. This is a digital download. Nothing is printed, packed, or shipped to you.

What if the material is revised?

When the book is revised, buyers receive the revised digital files at no added charge.

How do refunds work?

Email hello@thenightstand.site within 30 days of purchase. No questions are required. We refund the purchase, and you keep the files.
